What’s On For National Weekend in Birkdale…..

The Aintree Festival 2022 starts Thursday 7th April with the “greatest steeple chase on earth” The Grand National itself taking place on Saturday 9th April at 5:15pm

As always the 3 day meet is always hugely popular with us locals. Therefore there is lots going on in the village. We’ve broken some of them down to show you below:

Cafe Bar N’Ista - Breakfast & Glass of Prosecco £9.95 (7th - 9th April)

They say: “Start your Aintree races day off in style with a bite to eat and a glass of fizz at Cafe Bar N’ista. There’s a full breakfast menu available and plenty of wines, beers,spirits and the usual tea and coffee. Serving from 9am. Booking is advisable on 01704 808283 as we do get a tad busy.”

No. 4 Bar - Complimentary Glass of Prosecco with Breakfast

They say: “Our Aintree breakfasts kicks off in the morning with a complimentary glass of Prosecco or Mimosa with any breakfast. Serving from 9am”

Rumah Bar & Kitchen - Open From 8am

They say: “Our homemade muffins, getting ready for Races Breakfast. Opening from 8am Thursday 7th April, Friday 8th April, Saturday 9th April. Send us a message to book.

Merseyrail have stated that extra trains will be running to and from Southport - Liverpool and Sandhills - Aintree, so please check for train times.

The weather is currently not looking too promising for Thursday, however Friday (Ladies Day) and Saturday (National Day) should see the sun coming out from behind the clouds.

We can’t wait for this years festival, first time since 2019 we have been able to fully enjoy the Aintree meeting restriction free. Bring on the fashion, the wins and the good times!
